Feeding Commercial Cows

Our Commercial Cowherd base is made up of mainly Charolais X Hereford cows.  We breed them to Charolais and Horned Hereford bulls to start calving around the second week in February.  The calves are weaned and processed at the end of September and backgrounded in our own feedlot until January.  Just like our purebreds, these cows must really prove they can make money in order to stay around for any length of time.
