River Valley Poultry
Farm Ltd. is the parent company, and is known as one of the largest
farms for egg production in Canada.
We have always had
cattle of the farm in conjunction with the poultry operation. We
started with a small herd of commercial Herefords. When Donald was
in public school, he joined the 4-H program and Elwyn purchased him
his first purebred polled Hereford calf from the NcNeely family at
Golden Oak Herefords. Each year another purebred calf was purchased
from various breeders and that was the beginning of what has grown
into over a 100 head cow herd.
River Valley is
located on just over 1000 acres, situated North of the village of
Newburgh, Ontario, just minutes from the 401 highway, between
Kingston and Belleville, and 40 minutes from the Ivy Lea Bridge to
the USA.
