Black Angus
With the commercial bull trade in our sites we started back into Blacks
in 1994. This exciting fresh program now calves 170 mother cows with the
enthusiasm and help of our two co-operator herds the Black Creek Ranch
and Banana Hill Farms.
Our goals are the same as the other breeds - use common sense combined
with EPD's and performance and we will build one of the soundest Black
Angus commercial bull trades.
Our Blacks may not be the tallest but they sure will be some
of the deepest, thickest and soundest black bulls you will ever use.
Charolais
Developed from its inception to compliment our other British breed
programs of Hereford and Angus. There is no better cross breeding
program than using Charolais bulls to produce feedlot cattle.
Our goals are the same here with common sense, unassisted birth and
moderate frames governing our selection process. These cattle have hair,
thickness and most are now POLLED. Red Factor Charolais bulls now
comprise 40% of our Charolais bull production. Two of the hardest
working, most dedicated Charolais enthusiasts co-operate to make this
program turn out the best ranch bulls in the industry. Our thanks go out
to the Bill Toews and Gordon Thurston families.
Commercial Females
This program offers more potential than many realize!!. We annually
trade 500 commercial females for our Bull Customers. Top end production
from some of the best commercial herds from B.C. to Manitoba are
annually featured.
Guaranteed short breeding seasons, calving ease and a travel guarantee
enhances the genuine quality that is here.
This program is open to our bull customers that want to get involved.

Herefords
We have spent 51 years and 2 generations building and rigorously culling
our Herefords. We have used a balanced approach with our selection
process. Milk, performance, EPD's and function are our main selection
criteria. Our bull production represents the top end of the production
from 250 mother cows. Our Herefords are the best there is for easy
fleshing, ease of handling, maternal & longevity traits. Herefords
need to factor in all crossbreeding systems.
No ifs - ands - or buts!!
Red Angus
Our Red program was started in the fall of 1970 with the purchase of
Black Angus heifer calves. We were in fact one of the pioneer Red Angus
herds. Today, most of the Hill 70 Quantock Red Angus Herd can be traced to this
initial purchase. This initial purchase has mushroomed to be one of
Canada's largest seed stock operation's in terms of registrations and
transferred pedigrees. With the use of elite co-operative programs
started with heifer purchases we draw our production from 340 Red
Angus mother cows. Bulls in volume, common sense and totally oriented to
the commercial trade dominate our selection process. The application of EPD's has accelerated our selection process, focusing on consistency.
