Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada – The beautiful city of Saint-Hyacinthe, in southern Quebec, was a fantastic location for this year’s Canadian Simmental Association’s (CSA) National Convention and AGM. The Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation (FCSF) annual auction was again a highlight of the weekend’s activities.
More than 220 people from across Canada gathered for the annual event which took part August 10th following the Canadian Simmental Association’s Annual meeting and banquet. The 2019 FCSF auction had the most auction items ever donated raising a total of $100,850.00. Lot 1 of this year’s auction, was a black blazed face yearling heifer donated by the 2019 Friend of the Foundation, Barlee Simmentals of Shawville, Quebec. The heifer was sold by Dutch auction and raised an outstanding $32,140.00.
During the 2019 Young Canadian Simmental Association’s (YCSA) National show which was held the final day of the Convention, the FCSF Directors presented $15,000.00 from the auction proceeds to the YCSA for ongoing youth activities.
"The Foundation is thrilled with the success of our 2019 auction" stated FCSF President Ken Lewis. “The funds collected will continue to be used for youth development, education, research, scholarships and bursaries. Thank you to all the buyers, donators, volunteers and staff that made this year another amazing success!”
The Manitoba Simmental Association and FCSF look forward to hosting next year’s Foundation Auction in Portage La Prairie,
